Microsoft Update Crashes Outlook & Causes Sign-In Black Screen

Princeton, NJ - November 12, 2015  - Microsoft Update (KB 3097877) causing Outlook Crashing and login-errors.

On November 11 Microsoft released KB 3097877 which was part of Security Bulletin MS15-115.  Unfortunately for many users installing the update caused Outlook crashing when opening certain emails and a black screen when trying to login to a domain (corporate network).    Outlook freezing and restarting, Asus DX Xonar driver issues, NVidia driver errors, and Windows 7 sidebar crashing are some of the issues that users are complaining of after installing the update on Nov 11.

Microsoft has not acknowledged the issue at this time but did re-release the KB update with the same number sometime early this morning. Manually running a Windows update and installing the new update fixes many of the issues (including Outlook freezing) after a reboot.
