NJ E-ZPass Email Scam – Advisory Notice

The Port Authority of New Jersey and New York is warning E-ZPass users to be aware of an email phishing scam.  The fake E-ZPass violation notice arrives via email and warns customers about a bogus toll violation with a hyperlink to download an invoice.  Do not click on the link!

The email contains the official E-ZPass logo and purple color scheme but the message is suspiciously vague.

E-ZPass Service Center does not send out email invoices for payment. If you owe money for using E-ZPass on a toll facility, the E-ZPass service center will send an invoice through the US Postal Service for payment.  The number for the E-ZPass Customer Service is (888)-288-6865.

The official E-ZPass advisory can be seen directly on the E-ZPass website.
